Sunday Recap for August 5, 2018:
Stay Alive pt. 3

Mission Highlight: Thank you Luke and Mike for sharing the Mission Highlight on Sunday about our new ministry for middle school aged kids!

They started off by sharing how a few months back, Connie noticed a need in our congregation and acted on it by organizing a Ladies' Book Study, with the support and encouragement of church leadership. Likewise, when Luke and Mike met over dinner, they started talking about the middle school kids who graduate from Children's Ministry, but may struggle to understand the sermons in the adult service. They brought it up to church leaders and are now launching a middle school youth group, which would take place during the service, along with social events outside of church.

They spoke on the important, formative years of adolescence and a desire to help middle schoolers with spiritual development and spiritual maturity. They would like to launch this ministry to serve middle schoolers, their families, and San Francisco, including Roosevelt MS, where we meet.

We would love to have volunteers! Either for middle school, or for grade school, where Luke and Mike currently serve as they transition over to leading middle school. So if you are interested in helping out with middle school or grade school, please email Luke, Mike, or Janice! Let's continue to pray as a congregation for this middle school ministry, for God to work through it, and that his love and glory would be reflected throughout.

This Week's Sermon: “Stay Alive pt. 3" (2 Corinthians 7:10-11)

Pastor Curt concluded his four part series, "Stay Alive" on the difference between conviction and condemnation. It focuses on Apostle Paul's words to the Corinthians after he sent a letter of correction that gave them a "godly grief" which led to repentance.
