Spiritual songs to listen to and sing as we live lives formed by the Word!

This week's Sermon: "Renewal Through the Word" (2 Kings 22:1-2810-1123:1-3)

“Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do.” (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe) This quote was actually made famous by Bruce Lee and is in poster form in martial arts studios across the country. We all recognize that real living is about more than just knowing; it is about doing. There is a pattern in the Book of Kings, and really throughout the entire Bible, where God reveals truth to his people and his people in turn either embrace it, or reject it. The rejection of God’s truth generally leads to destruction and the embracing of God’s truth generally leads to renewal.

Main Idea: Respond to the Word

Mission Highlight: Thank you Claire, for sharing about Outer Circle and the wonderful work God is doing through you guys to serve traveling youth in San Francisco! Christ Church has been richly blessed with relationships and friendships through your faithful service and love. Some examples of this included the now 10 year tradition of weekly Pancake Breakfasts on Mondays in Golden Gate Park, where our friends in the park know they can count on free pancakes and friendly faces to get to know them and learn how to serve them. Also, Amigos, a family group that helps with issues of homelessness and with sober living with Jesus. For those of you who aren't as familiar, Outer Circle is currently at a home in the Mission, a four-story flat where the 2nd-3rd floors are a resource for those they serve with 3 months of transitional housing as they find jobs.

There are many ways to help and get involved! From help with counseling groups to your knowledge and skill as an electrician! And of course, let's keep praying for God's grace and strength, his hope and joy as the Outer Circle acts as the hands and feet of Christ himself and as our Heavenly Father if he is also sending us to join with them!
