Sunday Recap for April 30, 2017:
The One Thing I Didn't Know I Had to Endure

Mission Highlight: Thank you Billy for sharing the Mission Highlight this week! Here is some of what Billy shared: "My cousin Benson Chiu went on his first missions trip to Thailand in 2006. He and a few friends felt called to keep going back. Eventually, I was able to go with him and a team in 2010 to an orphanage named Khaodee (over 100 kids) and I have been supporting a ministry they started called ReActs in one way or another ever since. It’s a powerful testimony of 4 ordinary men who grew up in San Francisco and saw a need on a short term trip and felt called to help. ReActs has been an amazing testimony of faithfulness over the years despite these guys having their own families with many kids and jobs here in San Francisco. In fact one of the boys they helped, Yo (amazing testimony) now runs their Children’s home.

How you can get involved or help?
  • ReActs is holding their 7th annual charity dinner that has grown to over 250 people. Featuring band Tim Be Told #christianfamous
  • Those with kids there is also babysitting at $10 a kid (pretty good deal for parents for 4 hrs)
  • 99% of proceeds go directly to the kids in Thailand for basic needs, education, and  equipping them with the gospel
  • They will also raffle off Hamilton tickets and other items, last year was warriors playoff tickets

Question #17: What is idolatry?
Answer: Idolatry is trusting in created things rather than the Creator for our hope and happiness, significance and security.
