About Membership
Scripture reveals that the primary instrument of God’s plan for accomplishing his purposes in our lives and on this earth is his Church. All followers of Jesus are members of the universal church, but we are called to live out our lives in fellowship with other believers in a particular local church. Membership in a local church provides a context for us to live out all of the “one anothers” in Scripture with real people we know by name and whose lives we care about deeply. We want to do church in a way that helps us to view our lives and world through the lens of the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Membership constitutes a promise to partner with one another in carrying out the Great Commission, with a willingness to call one another back to the gospel and hold one another accountable in our journeys of deepening faith – with love, meekness and humility. It is a way in which we live in the power of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God, the good of others, and the growth of the church.
